Figured I'd start one for mine too.
So far I've gotten rid of the AC and blower motor, patched a lot of rust, fixed the power steering line, oil pan gasket, rear main seal, replaced a blown brake line, changed the tranny fluid and transmission pan gasket, and remade the exhaust system for it. Still needs to have a headlight switch installed, and a switch for the horn (have both, just need to be put in).
Got headers for a BBC and flanges for a Caddy. Got the rest of the old flanges off today (grinder) and started fitting the new ones. Got that done in a little over an hour. Found out that the header tubes need to move quite a bit to fit the new flange, and that I'm going to have to tack weld them in place to keep the tubes from popping out as I'm putting the others in.
Starting that Tuesday since I have Monday off. Should be done by Wednesday at the latest.
Have valve covers, just need to put them on. Old ones aren't chrome. New ones are.
Waiting to get it into the shop so I can put the headers and valve covers on. Depending on which direction I choose to go with this, I might end up pulling the engine as well. Need to find out how far down I can mill the heads and how much it'll cost, and some other stuff. Really hoping to get this thing moving again soon. _________________ I don't fail, I succeed in finding what doesn't work. |

I got them a month or two ago. They were $40 with shipping. Cheaper than my air cleaner from the local parts store.
I will once they're on..... _________________ I don't fail, I succeed in finding what doesn't work. |

Got the valve covers on (will have pics soon...I swear).
Adjusted the idle mixture screws and the timing, runs much better now. Spins the tires all the way through first gear.
Also rebuilt the carb, before I adjusted the idle mixture screws and timing.
Putting different tires on it tomorrow.
Planning on registering it and insuring it in the beginning of June so I can drive it to school....15 day grace period to get it inspected. We go until June 12th. _________________ I don't fail, I succeed in finding what doesn't work. |
