its the whole "get picked up at the airport" part that thats getting sketchy.
plan "A" went to plan "B" then "C" then "D" then back to plan "B" and now i think maybe possibly plan "F".
plan "A" is no good because her boss took a vacation all week and she has to work.
plan "B" runs caprice all over the countryside 180 miles before he goes to work.
plan "C" would have been ok but his friend doesnt want to drive all over the countryside that early in the morning.
plan "D" is being picked up by Caprice, taken to burleston, and having her pick me up in burleston. that would save a bunch of miles for both him and her.
plan "F" might involve waiting at the airport for a few hours. I dont mind much as long as I get my room.
im nervous about not getting the room i was promised. it took me 12 calls and a fax to get an answer. i need this room. the location is right. the price is right. i dont wanna be stuck out in the boondocks away from everything while she is at work or run her 20 miles each way everyday for her to come see me.
also its kinda lame of me to drop a 180+ mile round trip on Caprice before he goes to work. 
and a lesser pressing issue... Jrtech destroyed my bag last trip to chicago and didnt tell me. now i need to find a bag big enough to hold 6 days worth of clothes and my laptop and still qualify as "carry on".

one thing for ceratin, DFW is a big place and it sounds like everyone is NOT centrally located - - - - I think I would opt to hang at the AP until she could come get me  Try shooting spitwads at the "Hari-Krisnahs" (sp) to pass the time

everything is always changing. she has 1 day off and thats our 6 flags day. i hope she gets to keep her 6 flags day. anyway i dont think we will get to do a whole lot other than 6 flags and kick around town there.
i really appreciate the offer though. the way this trip is looking i may have to plan a second trip.

If nothing else, it would be so cool for you and Elco to meet up, even briefly, and maybe down a cold one for "posterity" or whatever

so the plan is ill be picked up by Cap around 8 am hang out with him til she gets off and hope the motel doesnt give my room away.
fingers crossed that a simple phone call telling them that i am in TX and on my way will prevent "no show" status from making me homeless for 6 days.
and it sucks you got fired Elco.

if so, then they should hold your room indefinitely !

still 12 calls when it should have been 3 max... doesnt seem to inspire confidence in their managing...
