Dude if it has a light, it has a code. DON't ever go back to anyone who can't read the code. Maybe find the local Autozone, or car parts place, that'll scan your codes for free. Then post them up here so someone can help you debug them.

Go buy a cheap scanner. AutoZone, Advance, etc ought to have them. We have one lying around somewhere.

there are scanners for $60.

But it takes the $200+ ones, especially on a Ford, to get accurate descriptions of the codes.


Ford is one of the big offenders of deviating from the standard OBD messages. So the more generic scanners that don't have the Ford (and import) databases, only give you a number. Still, you can google that (or just post it up here) and someone with a background in EFI stuff will be able to point you in the right direction.

some gm cars had obd2 in 1994
caddy used the obd2 system since 1985
