While the Eagle was at the transmission shop, she caught on fire, and the mechanic saved her, wiring under the hood, he thinks the wire for the Electric Choke, which I don't have anymore (I don't have the choke, not the wire) grounded out or something, he replaced the wiring, he saw smoke coming from under the hood when he took her for a test drive
on the way there the radio was acting all funny, shutting off then coming back on, now aren't they different circuits? Where should I check the wiring when I get her back?

the radio will share the same power and ground as the rest of the car... find out which wire was shorting out, then clip and protect it...

if the radio is a newer aftermarket unit, it makes sense that it would freak out if there's a short anywhere in the car. Good thing the guy caught the problem before it got worse! If it were a factory power wire, however, I'd expect it to have been fused..?

It is an aftermarket Blaupunkt stereo with under dash mounted equalizer
I did not install it, I do not know how it is wired it, I should probably disconnect my battery before leaving here here for a few days, shouldn't I

that happened to the nova before.

firewall cut into a wire & somehow ignited a fuel pool on the intake manifold.

12v hot - use the + side [primary] of the coil
remember ! it pulls the choke off , the thermal spring activates the flap
