Haven't really figured out where I want to put this yet, so I just stuck it here because I'm the man and I can. I'll post another thread asking if you all think we should have a specific area to put build threads in or not. Anyway, on with the show.

The car is a 1993 240sx with roughly 147k on the clock. I got it for the scant price of 100 bucks from a friend because of a blown transmission (automatic).

Here she is when I got her...so stock, so virginal.

This is the stock mill. She really kept good care of it as the valve cover I painted 3 years ago is still going strong.

I didn't like the old front end or wheels, that had to be changed.

Staggered offset. 17x7 front, 17x9 rear.

Wrenching away...my friends are great.

The motor is now 6 bolts from coming out.

Roughly sitting down on the coilovers. It's on jackstands in the front and ramps in the rear, so I don't have an idea of the real fender gap yet but it should be the same as the old camo car (which is where I got the suspension from).

Of course, this is the valve cover that's going on the new motor.

The new motor will be a SR20det (2.0L turbo) with right around 300 rwhp to start. I'll keep this thread updated.

The rearends are pretty stout to about 450 wheel. The horsepower will be top end but the torque peak is around 3700-4000 (out of 7500 rpms). Should be around 290 ft. lbs. at the wheels...makes for a fun 2500 lb car.

I'd say..

I had a 80 3 door sunbird
with a sd iron duke.. and as many fiber parts I could find..
it was fun and it didn't have a turbo..
valve float was the limiting factor

KA is going to a buddy of mine for his brother's car. 147k on it with a fresh timing chain and new injectors.

The rear tires are 245's...once I see how much real clearance there is with the suspension under load, I might go wider. Right now, it looks like the rear wheels will be flush as is so I want to avoid wheel spacers if the tires get so wide that they hit the coilovers.

Wish the rear quarters didn't have dents. The girl I got it from is a bartender part-time and all of the rear quarter damage was done by patrons in the bar's parking lot. Nice, huh? I'll fix it all after I get the car up and running for a few months. It'll blend right in with all of the other multi-colored 240s around here.

Here comes the pain:

This finally got here.

I fed a 15 year old some beer, he made faces.

You know what these are.

Most of this needs to be thrown in the circular file.

Gook and muck, slime.

This makes magic somehow.

This is all out of magic, full of fail.

More fail, receiver hitch style.

I like my exhausts to look a certain way.

Before.

After. Not quite done with the cleaning process. More will be done once it gets closer to running. All of the impossible to reach stuff is clean pretty much.

I can't believe we did this to an almost perfectly good car. LoL!

Art giving the old KA the shaft one last time.

Clean but not clean enough.

See? Now this is getting better.

Art rewiring everything.com. It'll be amazing when done, no real visible wires.

Plop.

We all had our Secrets.

Farewell KA.

That was the weekend. I've still got a bucket of parts to go.

Thanks to Art and Sean for throwing down and helping make this weekend happen. You guys rule.

The whole inside of the car is filled with 'em. Most everything pipewise that came with the motor was garbage, hoses were all shot, etc...

I plan to get used to it nice and easy and then put my GoPro on it for some sliding. Smile I'll have a start-up, exhaust and some drive-by stuff before that though.
