I'll admit it, I barely know anything about automatic transmissions
I was describing the sounds and feelings my transmission makes (can't really describe them, only happens in reverse under stress) and was told my rear bands may need adjusting
what are the rear bands, how hard is it to do this, and if I can't do it here (probably can't no tools) how much would it cost to do

Also, I have been told by several people not to change my transmission fluid, because it has been in there for a while and the particles floating around in it are the only things holding my transmission together (trans in a 998), is this true?

I'd ajd. them.. but for you I'd have it done..
and on the fluid.. yes this is true.. but
pointless at you need the band ajd. and you 99.9% have to open the pan.. to do this..
so, if it's that bad.. (pull the dip stick and run the fluid between your fingers.. feel grit..(yes/no) if no,, your fine.. change out the fuild..
just remember opening up something that hasnot been serviced like it should have.. is like opening a can of worms..
it can cause trouble..
u've been warned

I know a guy with a 727 in an Eagle
All I have to do is change the output shaft(?)
Almost same transmission, 998 just has weak internals

I found if I get a 727 from a Grand Wagoneer it will be a straight up swap

well, it turns out, it wasn't that, the transmission mount collapsed, getting her fixed soon
mechanic here you guys would like
He has a 69 TOrino Fastback with a 428 Cobra Jet, a Bench Seat, and a 4 speed, restored to factory specs, and as I was waiting for him to get off the phone, his receptionist asked me how I liked my Eagle, her husband just bought a 68 Javelin, good body, but needs a drivetrain, when he bought it, it had a 350, taking that out was his first step Very Happy

I canceled the card yesterday, pulled my laundry out of the dryer, guess what I found all warped Sad
