it tell you..
the timing curve is off..
and the tune of the holley is way off..
and for a cruiser.. you'd be wasting your money...
unless you just have to know..
I'd put the 350 in your 55 at 260hp.
and 330ft lb

I wouldn't waste the money on "test" - all it's going to do is tell you that you have a lot of room to grow.

If you're interested in optimizing the power to the wheel, then go find a *loadbearing* dyno (that's NOT a "Dynojet") and be prepared to change your carb tuning, and timing curve.

By spending a little more time and carefully watching your incrementals at the track, you can definitely find the *BEST* tune without a chassis dyno. No doubt about it. After all the chassis dyno tuning I do, we still optimize the tune at the track.

And remember: don't ever take dyno advice from people who don't have experience with it.

well you asked a while back..
but I'll reply with a few questions of my own..

how "radical" is your combo? I mean how radical is it to YOU?

How many engines have you tuned before?

have you ever tuned your own engine and "lost it"

can you stab the dizzy and set the carb and have the engine fire right up with no adjustments?

are you in a competitive series?

.. example.. have a friend into dirt track, bigger cam, heads and more compression... what did they gain? 15 hp and a lotta rpm.. and hence piston speed.. and the knowledge that the old combo would live a lot longer only sacrificing 15 hp..

you're asking one hella hard question to answer, lol.. Exclamation

That's weird because his engines get dyno'd frequently at a private facility in SoCal, and at another in Indianapolis.

wrong again. You should stop getting your race knowledge from Fox News.

What would be awesome is, if only people that had DYNO experience, answered the original question. That'd get rid of a lot of the fluff in here.
