Toyota is pulling out of Formula One racing, the world's largest automaker announcing Wednesday that it needs to cut costs and focus on its core business. "Based on the current economic environment, we realize we have no choice but to withdraw from Formula One," Toyota president Akio Toyoda said at a news conference. "This has been a very painful decision for the company." Toyota follows Honda Motor Co. as the second major Japanese automaker to withdraw from the sport in the last 11 months. Toyota officials called the withdrawal from F1 complete, making a return to the sport when and if conditions improve unlikely. Toyota, the world's largest car manufacturer, is seeking to cut costs as it expects to post an operating loss for the six months ended Sept. 30. It is due to report earnings Thursday. The company posted its worst-ever loss in the financial year at the end of March

She's taken what should have been the Earnhardt family legacy, and turned it into a joke. Stupid power hungry biatch. _________________ DieselGeek "wow, that made so much sense. I'm amazed at your awesome-ness" |

with all the sponsor money out there .. why do you really need a factory deal ?
the chevys are stomping , I see no reason to switch to yoda .. childress let the cat out of the bag with saying egr did not return his phone calls about the engine deal for next year _________________

Tony hit it square on the head....DEI is nothing more than a museum(because they damn sure aren't competitive).
You'd think Chip Ganassi would've learned from the royal screwing Toyota gave him when they ducked out of Champ Car?

that would be beautiful. Nascar loses Toyota and it's money, and Theresa is left with nothing. _________________ DieselGeek "wow, that made so much sense. I'm amazed at your awesome-ness" |

she could have given junior his 51 percent , made billions , dei would have been the biggest thing in racing , everybody in that garage area loved big e and in turn the best would love to work for junior
no she kept it to herself , sold out to ginzo tub of lard , sucked the life outta the place , got the hot chevrolet power by childress , juan pablo has proven to be a tough little driver . toyota is hot for that and the biggest name in chevrolet ...EARNHARDT .. the japs want the heritage like the comms wanted the white house

Yeah, I'll never understand that mentality. You have two options:
1. Sell the 51% for, I think it was, $51 million, keep the 49% and live lavishly.
2. Refuse, run the company into the ground, and wait to file bankruptcy, because you crave power.
Not to mention you know Dale built DEI for the kids, not his wife. I don't have much good to say about that woman. Who knows, maybe she'll happy on Japanese cawk _________________ DieselGeek "wow, that made so much sense. I'm amazed at your awesome-ness" |

FORT WORTH, Texas - After weeks of speculation, Sunday was decision day for Earnhardt Ganassi Racing.
Toyota and Richard Childress, who is part of the joint venture which currently supplies Chevrolet engines to EGR, gave co-team owner Chip Ganassi an ultimatum for a decision on manufacturers next year.
Following several early morning meetings at Texas Motor Speedway, EGR opted to stay with Chevrolet, FOXSports.com has learned.
Ganassi spoke with General Motors Racing manager Mark Kent in a closed-door meeting inside the No. 1 team's transporter Sunday morning at Texas Motor Speedway and Alba Colon, GM Racing's Chevrolet program manager, camped out in front of the hauler for part of the morning. He also met with Toyota senior manager Andy Graves before making his decision.
When asked for a comment after his meetings, Ganassi said "It's nobody's business."
Chip Ganassi has been a NASCAR team owner since 2001 when he formed a partnership with Felix Sabates. The duo teamed up with Teresa Earnhardt to form EGR late last season, which fields the No. 1 for Martin Truex Jr. and the No. 42 for Juan Pablo Montoya. _________________
